So Picture this (sounds like a Sophia from Golden Girls !), straight, frizzless ,bouncy and glossy hair. Keep that in your imagination and come with me to reality!
This wild being on my head has a mind of its own. Thick ,frizzy, loads of hair, wavy ,curly and 10% straight at the very back of my head where it is not relevant. For the past 15 years i tried to tame it at home like the rest of the girls in the WORLD. Steamer Iron Straighteners that burnt my ears and created split ends the size of the canyon! Never ending straightening products , serum and anything that could keep this beast in check. Alas the only way to look human was a hairdresser, i am blessed to have a best friend and some other people in life that where hairdressers so at least i had that on my side.
3 weeks ago i found something though; a tool that i can use on my hair that will make it look Fabulous! Me, myself and i could do it on my own! After watching a couple of tutorials on large waves with large barrels, i thought let’s try one last time.
So being the utmost lover of online shopping i discovered a heaven for beauty products at a real decent price with world-wide delivery, feelunique.com. Then looked at a couple of curling irons and found the Volume Waves by Babyliss, the barrel is 38mm so it can stand my thick hair . I also got some treatments so it wont dry up my hair, i chose the Aussie Miracle Recharge Moisture Lightweight conditioning spray and the Miracle recharge take the heat.
Proceed to the arrival of the package (christmas all over again every single time) fast forward to the first trial!
I thought i would wash my hair the night before and let it air dry so i wont need to use more heat on it, i put some Aussie leave in conditioning spray and in the morning my hair was dry and smelt amazing.
So i then revisited some tutorials my favorite being ShirleyBEniang , and also checked out carly bybel for her hair tutorial. Then got a hair clip, some house music and the sectioning started. I applied some Aussie Miracle Recharge Take the Heat and parted my hair starting from the back , put the Babyliss curling iron on full heat and started the process, section by section. I also made sure each curl had a couple of minutes cooling time , very important!
After 30 minutes, i was done got my wide comb and went through my curls to open them up, then sprayed some L’Oreal soft spray and vua la! I managed …i actually managed …celebration..which followed by an inundation of whatsapp pictures to my friends for that extra wow factor ! 🙂
The verdict is :
Aussie leave in conditioner – Great Price and gives hair life and moisture.
Aussie Take the Heat – Does what it says, protects and leaves a lovely scent
Babyliss Volume Waves – has 5 heat settings , on and off button for down time and leaves hair looking healthy and bouncy! One of my best buys in ages!
That is all Folks! Enjoy 🙂
