It is October however it still feels like summer so on a very bright Saturday morning a lovely friend got married!
Weddings generally make me very happy primarily for the happy occasion but also for my getting ready process. This was the first wedding that I did my own nails, my own hair and tried new make-up techniques. So without further ado, this is the picture journey I wanted to share as I was pretty pleased with the result! (If I may say so myself!!)
The day started with an early jog continued with some house work and then proceeds to my image improvement process.
Hair- I was pretty stressed about my hair as I always book my Hairdresser when I have a wedding or an important event. My main concern was keeping the curls. TIP section your hair, after curling a part, hold it with a hair pin and spray. Leave it to stand till you get to the next section. Do not open up your curls when you are done, but wait until you start dressing up.
Nails – For 10 years my hands where always manicured with acrylics and my toes where generally coloured in a deep red when I have a wedding. The colour is so classic and gives your nails such a put together look. This time I used the Inglot in deep berry for my nails too!
Make up :
Starting from Primer I use ELF, then foundation my trusted Estee Lauder Double Wear in 1N2. Used a fake beauty blender for the first time which does the same job. Then I used the Rimmel stay Matte in OO1, Cream Blush Bourjois in nude velvet and a Bronzer from Amsterdam brand called eTOS. A major player worth always mentioning is the MAC concealer pro long wear in NU15.
The look I was going for is earthy and neutral . So first things first I went through my palettes to see what is available and tried some shades I thought would be good. Used items where the Dior Double palette in 685 Poplook and Sunkissed in a Nude.
Started from the Left Side 1st swatch colour is from the Dior Palette in dark brown for blending, 2nd Sun Kissed nude selection for the cap and 3rd from the Dior palette a soft peach shimmer for the last touch after blending.
Then I move on to lip colour, again I wanted a nude but glossy tone. The lipstick I chose is Elamasque in Rosepout, Lip Liner from Wycon in 01 Rose and gloss from H&M in Nude Dude.
And a good Tip would be to select the tools and products beforehand in the place you will be applying your make up so you can have an overview and you won’t miss out on any steps. Obviously this is not an everyday look or process, because not everyone is Kim Kardashian!
The end Result for the 3 hour extravaganza! Dress was bought from a local shop called “The List” , nude sandles from Asos and nude box clutch from Accessorize.
Had a lovely girly day doing my own thing and having some time to myself; which is always an essential. The wedding was brilliant full of warmth and laughter!
Hope you enjoyed it.
Take Care Peeps!
