WARNING: Cute is going to be the most popular word on this Blog!
Hello and welcome to a sweeter World thanks to the JapanCandyBox! This box is full of unconventional treats from Japan which I would not find in Europe. It is so exciting to learn about a country through their flavours , it is a journey through the taste buds and if you know me enough any excuse to travel with any means is brilliant for me!
This is the first month I tried this box and it contained 10 different items. Half of them where full size and the rest was a reduced size. The site is http://www.japancandybox.com/ and you can try just one to see how you like it. The cost is $19.90 per month including shipping. It comes in a cardboard box, well placed in a rose sheet and all products are set perfectly. They also include a list of the items in English.
Let’s Check out the Inside Now!
Kabaya Fish/Frog Gummies
Packaging is adorable and it feels like jelly. The gummies are very light and actually jelly like. It does not have a sticky texture and the flavour is grape and orange from what I could deduce. It’s a good sweet but something we can find locally in europe. Rating 7.5/10
Puccho Mixed Fruit Chewy Candy
Now this is yummmmmy! It’s soft chewy on the outside and gummy in the centre. The taste is fruity and fresh very pleasant to chew on when you really fancy something sweet. It is kind of addictive as the flavour is not so strong and you crave more! Rating 9/10
Latte Koala March Biscuits
Ohhhhhh Koala’s all over even on the little tiny biscuit! I feel kids would love this. It looks really cute with the Koala print, crunchy flaky biscuit outside and a smooth chocolate centre. Although it isn’t Nutella level this is pretty good. Rating 7.5/10
Pokemon Pikachu Pretzels
Pokemon is carrying the little sticks so damn cute! These taste exactly like Orea Coated Pretzel Sticks with a definite serious CRUNCH!! Deliciousssssssssssss Rating 10/10 Ding Ding Ding Ding
Yaokin Sour Paper Candy
Whoever likes Sour Sweets this would be heaven! Super Sour Coke flavoured chewy candy strip! Wowzer this really has some serious kick to it. Sour is not something I look for, this will not be a favourite for sure. Rating 6/10
Meiji Kotsubu Chocolates
Now this I feel has messed up seriously with my brain. This looks like a typical European smartie pack with a different language. On the card it says “chocolate” , I bite into it and its a pale yellow creamy vanilla flavoured BLEH. Sorry this is just not right! Tomorrow will buy some smarties so I can rekindle childhood memories! Rating 3.5/10
Meiji Petit Bubblegum
Bubbles with straws, cuteness level 10! All you need is just a tiny amount, pop them in your mouth and you get a slight sourness and coke like flavour. Extremely handy package to carry with you and although the taste is strong it really chews well as a gum, it almost feels like you can eat it. That is some cute, good gum. Rating 9.5/10
Dorayaki Japanese Hotcake
Now at this point my taste buds has gone on over drive. This looks like a tiny mini burger, the outside is a tasty sponge cake texture and the middle is a stiff chocolate which I am not a fan of. I can see the cuteness in the small package but not much more. Rating 4/10
Marukawa Fusen Bubble Gum
First reaction “Reptile Eggs”. Very small cute packaging and only four gums. Next thought “Reptile Eggs?!”. Popped one in my mouth ….it was FANTASTIC! Coke flavour again with a hint of sour and nice smooth chew which will last. This looks fairly worrying but taste’s great! Rating 8.5/10
Popin’ Cookin’ Neri Candy Land Diy Kit
Now this looks like a proper fun activity! The packaging gets you all excited with its lovely colours and cute images! As this is a kit, I will open it when I am joined by my friend who I am sure would enjoy trying this out. Will let you know how it goes for sure!
All in all a Really Fun Package to receive every month! If you have kids or you are interested in tasting Japanese snacks then I would surely recommend this box. Amongst all the Japanese box’s I have seen around this is the only one under EUR20 which is brilliant for something you are buying just to enjoy.
