Hello Lovelies! It is Thursday and that means the weekend is teasing us and ready to show it’s face! On this blog I review another matte lip colour from MAC called Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in the shade Oh’Lady! This is the third matte lip colour I tried, the other brands are NYX and the Primark PS Love, if you would like to have a look at the reviews; links are as follows: NYX http://bit.ly/1TGIZYZ & Primark http://bit.ly/1Q35ogO
MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Oh’Lady, the colour you see in the plastic tube is what you get as a colour tone. The applicator looks like flattened ear cotton bud, it picks up a massive amount of product when you pull it out.
Colour pigment, MASSIVE! There is no doubt about it, you get what you see. Even swatching it on my hand it did not budge in colour pay off at all. This is extremely exciting for me I must say, as I have been after a deep wine colour before the winter is over. The colour I chose is Oh’ Lady which is perfectly described as a deep wine with an ever so subtle hint of purple. Application is delicate. For the first time I needed a full 10 minutes to make sure I outline my lips properly and then fill them in. There is no space for error here, if you skip the lip line a micro tiny bit you will look like a mess. So take your time for best results and clean up with a concealer brush around the edges.
At the end I managed to pull off an evening look for my anniversary dinner were we drank copious amounts of wine, medium rib eye with wedges, desert which was a puff pasty filled with almonds and I didn’t retouch the lipstick! Bonus points go to my husband loving the rebel look (cause usually I look like a sheep) and he was astonished that it remained intact. That says it all!
